Accommodation Details:

For the 6 nights of this retreat, we will be staying at Villas Jacquelina, a treehouse-style boutique hotel in Quepos, Costa Rica. The hotel has basic yet comfortable rooms with incredible communal areas to chill and have fun. They are one of the highest-rated budget-friendly hotels/hostels in the area.
  • All rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily
  • We will group participants by sex so that we don't have males and females sharing rooms.
  • If you are coming with a friend, we will try to put you together in the same room.

Double Occupancy (economy) - Villa Escondido
With this package, participants can expect a twin bed in a room with a high-powered ceiling fan and one other participant. Participants will have access to a shared bathroom that is shared between two rooms and a maximum of 4 guests.

Single Occupancy (economy)
With this package, participants can expect a small private room with a twin bed and ceiling fan. It is the same price as the double occupancy package because the rooms are small and located close to common areas and reception. These guests will share a bathroom with one other participant. This package is for early risers who want to be close to all the action.

Single Occupancy (standard) - Villa Sol
With this package, participants can expect a medium-sized room with a double bed and a high-powered ceiling fan. These guests will have access to a shared bathroom that is shared between two rooms and a maximum of 4 guests.

Single Occupancy (superior) - Villa Vista
With this package, participants can expect a medium-sized room with a double bed and air conditioning. These guests will have access to a shared bathroom that is shared between two rooms and a maximum of 4 guests.

Double Occupancy (superior rooms for couples) - Villa Linda
With this package, couples can expect a large private room with a private bathroom, ceiling fan, and air conditioning.

Triple Occupancy (standard) - Villa Fresca
With this package, participants can expect a large room with three individual beds, air conditioning, and two other participants. These rooms have one large private bathroom in the room that will be shared by all 3 participants.

Flights:

Flights to Costa Rica and not included in your package. You must purchase your flights yourself and should look for flights that will arrive in San Jose Costa Rica (SJO) in the morning or afternoon on July 13th, 2024. (Be careful not to book a flight to San Jose California (SJC))
  • We recommend booking flights 60-90 days in advance.
  • Watch flights using Google Flights, as flight prices will fluctuate.
  • Flights from the US should cost $450-$800 if you are savvy with your purchase.
  • If you find a US flight for under $500, you should purchase it.
  • Keep in mind luggage restrictions. Packing small will normally save you money.

Airport Transportation:

  • We will supply two airport shuttle pick-ups on July 13th to get you from (SJO) to Villas Jacquelina. One will leave (SJO) around 1 pm and a second will leave around 9 pm. Times may fluctuate to accommodate guests but best to arrive at a time that will correspond with our airport pick-up.
  • We will supply two airport shuttle drop-offs on July 19th to get you from Villas Jacquelina to SJO. One will leave before daybreak (5 am) to get you to the airport by 8 am. The second will leave around 9 am to get you to the airport by noon. Times may fluctuate to accommodate guests but best to book an afternoon flight. (If you book flights that don't correspond with our shuttle times, you will be responsible for your Transportation to  )

Meals:

We will have a big family dinner on the night you arrive. For the next 5 days, we will be served breakfast at Villas Jacquelina and will either have late lunches at Villas Jacquelina or eat out at local restaurants. If we eat at restaurants, we will normally be served a traditional Costa Rican meal consisting of rice, beans, salad, vegetables, and your choice of protein (fish, chicken, beef, pork, or additional vegetables). We can normally account for all dietary requirements.

What to Bring?

We will be in a hot and humid climate and will be in and out of water regularly. Best to pack light with a lot of bathing suits and light clothing. The hotel offers a fairly priced laundry service in case you need to wash clothing. The hotel will provide hotel towels but make sure to bring a lightweight towel that you can travel with and please bring a reusable water bottle. Check out this blog post to learn more about what to bring to this area.

      Additional Details:

      • July is considered a rainy month in Costa Rica. We will likely see rain every day but it normally comes and passes quickly allowing plenty of time for sunshine. If you don't like rain or getting wet, this retreat may not be for you.
      • Villas Jacquelina is not a luxury hotel. I chose this accommodation because it's awesome but also because it's affordable and allows us to sell our packages at a lower cost. If you are worried about your room accommodation, I recommend reserving a superior room or couples room that will come will air conditioning and a private bathroom.
