For this route, you will have to take two shuttles sometimes with different transport providers. One from Puerto Viejo & Cahuita to the San José Airport Area, and a second one from the San José Airport Area to Monteverde.

  • 2nd shuttle: San José Airport Area to Monteverde 2:15 PM

Get picked up from most hotels or Hostel in the Puerto Viejo & Cahuita area and be dropped off at most accommodations in Monteverde. You will travel comfortably in a 12-passenger air-conditioned microbus. This trip should be 10 hours on average. You will have a waiting time of approximately 3 hours between the two shuttles and will have one official 15-minute rest stop halfway through each ride.
