Tortuguero National Park is the best place in Costa Rica to find wildlife; it consists of a large system of waterways that irrigate most of the North Caribbean of the country. Because of its remote location and difficult access, this pristine rainforest remains virtually untouched and is home to many animals such as sloths, monkeys, crocodiles, toucans, trogons, waterfowl, colorful frogs and butterflies. 

This National Park is also the main nesting site for the green and leatherback sea turtles, from June to October, months during which an optional turtle nesting night tour will be available. 

On the first day we will head to the Caño Blanco boarding area where we will access the main channel to go north in the National Park. Upon arrival around 12 noon, enjoy a visit to the unique town of Tortuguero. On the second day we will embark on a canoe trip into the jungle where you will explore the hidden lagoons and channels; As we go deeper into the forest, the canals become smaller and the surrounding wildlife comes closer. Return to your hotel at 09:00 am to enjoy a delicious breakfast and then be ready at 11:00 am for your departure from Tortuguero to your new destination either San José, La Fortuna or the South Caribbean. Daily departures from San José, Arenal or the South Caribbean with the option to change destination at the end of the tour to any of the above destinations.


The Economy and Standard options are located just five minutes from Tortuguero National Park. They are focused on respect, promotion and conservation of the environment of flora and fauna in the area. Both have rooms with private bathrooms, hot water, fans and a lush garden. They are authentic Caribbean-style architecture painted with bright colors that identify the area's culture.

RETURN TIME:
Around 05:30 or 06:00 PM. It all depends on traffic.


What to bring?

Light clothing, swimsuit, sunscreen, cap, camera (ideally waterproof), water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, binoculars, and raincoat. For the night tour, wear dark clothing.
